Mechanism of Action: Faropenem is a new oral penem which shows broad antibacterial activity against both aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Faropenem is bactericidal with a strong affinity fafor the high molecular penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) of the cell wall which is essential for the multiplication of bacilli; it thus acts by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis.

Indications:

• Bacterial infections
• Infections in the ears, nose, throat, 30 urinary tract, 4 skin and 5 lungs

Dosage: 200 mg - 300 mg TID
